Steppin Out Saturday

I have years of experience with newborns but nothing truly prepares you for Mommyhood until that beaming baby is in your arms. I love, love, love being a Mom to Ava Grace. The sweet smell of baby and those big blue eyes and fabulous eyelashes blinking back up at me....there is no place I would rather be than snuggling with her. As much fun as I have had in the past 8 weeks of her life, I am just starting to feel like I might be getting it "together"...at least a little bit. Getting out of the house is tough though. Ava wakes up, I change her and feed her. Then we get dressed because if I don't dress her and myself before we set foot out of the bedroom, it may not happen until 4pm. Well, she would be dressed in a cute outfit I'm sure, but Mama however...the day will have gotten away and I will look the same when my husband gets home from work.Oh yeah, one hot mama over here! If I'm lucky, I can run a brush through my wet hair before I throw it up in pony....I try not to leave the house without brushing my teeth and washing my face but I won't lie, there has been a time or two when I had 20 minutes to spare and had to choose between a Starbucks run and brushing my teeth/washing my face. Of course I chose the Starbucks--they can deal with my morning breath while I order a coffee and race back home to my beautiful baby. So as encouragement for me to get myself together at least one day a week, I am participating in Mandy's Steppin Out Saturdays at Harper's Happenings.
